Farm A Rules
1. GAMES: Games are limited to 5 innings. Playtime will be limited to 1 hour 40 minutes. No new inning shall begin after 1 hour and 30 minutes. Games can end in a tie.
2. INNINGS: Each inning is limited to 3 outs or 5 runs, including the last inning. Complete roster hits in the batting order. The mercy rule is not in effect.
3. PITCHING: Coach Pitch. The batter will receive up to 6 pitches to hit or stikeout (no walks). If the batter fouls off the 6th pitch, the batter will receive extra pitches until batter hits or strikes out. Beginning 4/9 players will pitch. Players pitch 3 balls to each batter. Then Coaches will pitch 3 balls, if needed. Mound will be set at 38 feet.
4. PLAYER PITCH GAMES: Player pitch will begin on or after 4/9. Games are limited to 5
innings. Playtime will be limited to 1 hour 40 min during Player pitch games. No new inning shall begin after 1 hour and 30 minutes. Games can end in a tie.
5. PITCHERS: Pitchers will be limited to 2 innings per game. Green Book rules apply for pitching eligibility after 5/9. Pitch count for Farm A is, 1 – 20 pitches, 0 days rest. 21 – 35
pitches, 1 days rest. 36 – 50 pitches 2 days rest, (50 pitch limit).
6. RUNNERS: The batter and base runners will wear batting helmets at all times. If a player
voluntary removes his helmet, the player will be given a warning, second infraction player will be called out. Catcher must wear face mask and throat protector at all times.
7. SLIDING: Sliding is permitted. Intentional sliding headfirst will be called out unless returning to the bag. Stealing bases is not permitted. Players cannot leave the base until ball has been hit by the batter. If runner leaves early they will be sent back to base.
8. BATTERS: Bunting is not permitted. Batter will get 1 warning for throwing bat. Batter will be called out for throwing bat on second infraction. Umpire/coaches shall declare ball dead.
9. DECORUM: Swearing, foul language, derogatory or inflammatory statements by Managers,
Coaches, players or parents is grounds for immediate ejection and suspension.
10. Two Adult BASE COACHES are allowed on offense. No coaches are allowed in the field on
defense. A minimum 1 bench coach is required in the dugout at all times.
11. INFIELD: Defense consists of a pitcher, catcher, 4 infielders and 4 outfielders in outfield
grass. Rotate players after 2 innings so everyone gets to play infield. Patterson Little League
line-up card will be used and distributed to other team prior to the game.
12. PITCHERS HAND. Play shall end when the ball is thrown in the pitchers direction or after 1st over throw (if pitcher does not catch ball, runners only advance to the base they are running to). If the runner has not reached the base prior to the pitcher catching the ball, the runner shall
return to the previous base, there is NO halfway to base rule. If 2 runners are between the same
bases, the lead runner determines which bases are awarded. Runners can only take 1 extra baseon an over throw.
